Power Of Scotland Muay Thai Show
Power Of Scotland 9 returns to the Lagoon Arena on Saturday 27th Nov 2010. The Lagoon has proved to be a great venue for POS and the setup just adds to the great fight action! Again POS is focusing on the top young Scottish talent, with the 3 best young fighters in the country taking centre stage with A Class International fights and also a STBA Scottish Heavyweight Title defense.
A Class Fights:
Ritchie Hocking (POS Fight Team, SCOTLAND) Vs. Eddie Gill (DBMA, ENGLAND) (81kg)
Hocking is one of the most poular fighters to ever fight on POS and the only fighter to feature on every POS event. It is now time to stop thinking about Ritchie as a young teenager and focus on his assault on the UK Rankings! Hocking takes on UKMF English Champion Gill, also a tall fighter who has some stoppages to his name.
Kieran McAskill (POS Fight Team, SCOTLAND) Vs. Karl Hodgers (Louth Thai, IRELAND) (53.5kg)
Kieran McAskill is currently ranked No.3 in the UK Independent Rankings and is maturing into one of the best technical fighters in the country, with strong performances at the last 4 POS events and a ISKA British title to his name. He now faces Karl Hodgers from Louth, who is also an extremely quick and technical fighter, who has recently just came back from an extensive trip fighting and training in Thailand.
Jordan Calder (Caledonian, SCOTLAND) Vs. Andrew Doyle (Louth Thai, IRELAND) (56kg)
Jordan is another teenager who needs no introduction and has limitless potential. He is clinical and ruthless and has just came off a great win over Arron O’Callaghan from Cork to continue his undefeated run. This time he takes on another very tough fighter from Louth in Doyle, who like most of the fighters from his gym, has a very nice style, physically very strong and is rated by the IMC as No.1 Featherweight in Ireland.
Alan Weaver (NAMT, SCOTLAND) Vs. James O’Connell (Courage, IRELAND) (58kg)
Alan Weaver is one of the up and coming names in the Scottish scene, who keeps knocking down every fighter put in front of him. He is an extremely strong and powerful fighter who can end a fight with one shot. In this fight he takes on a very tough Irish fighter, who has just cam off one of the fights of the year with his 5 round elbow was with Robert McGivern in Dublin, maybe he use this durability to put a stop to Weavers impressive
STBA Heavyweight Title
Tam Muir (POS Fight Team) Vs. Gary O’Brien (Caledonian)
Current Champion O’Brien makes his POS debut and defends his title against Tam Muir. Both fighters are technical for the weight but with a clash of styles, mixed with the usual heavyweight drama, this could be a very interesting fight.
POS9 is planning 14 bouts and will run from 6-11:30pm, with doors opening at 5pm. Tickets can be purchased from any of the fighters on the show or you can visit the Lagoon or Musclebound on New Street in Paisley. Or alternatively call me on 07790 788 368 for tickets, info or to book Ringside tickets and you can collect from my BoxFit gym. Seating is unreserved apart from the Ringside, so basically first there on the day will get pick of the seats and you’ll have the flexibility to sit in groups etc.
Tickets are separated into 3 bands, Ringside (£50), Tiered (£25) and Standard (£20 for adults and £10 for Under 16’s). Ringside tickets offer close proximity seating, some food and waitress service.
